Meet Jason

I have been a therapist for over 18 years, working with couples and adults who want to make better sense of their relationships. While I have a few different interests that I feel particularly drawn to in therapy, my main focus as a counselor is helping couples deepen connection and intimacy, sometimes amidst great conflict, and working with adult survivors of childhood trauma.

I began my career working with homeless men who were recovering from drug and alcohol abuse, focusing on how addiction affects the brain and how people begin to reclaim their lives after years of addiction. In 2010, my wife and I moved to Charlottesville, VA where I began working with at-risk families, learning how to apply systems theory to my therapy work. Simultaneous with this work, I began my tenure as a staff therapist with New City Counseling, a formative time for me that has had the biggest impact on my work as a therapist. New City helped shape how I understand trauma, story, and relationships and, crucially, how change occurs. I moved to Nashville with my wife and five children in 2020, where I have since been in private practice.
